Folk tales and myths are very much different because folk tales are stories told for entertainment and myths express beliefs held by a culture to be truth. Again, not all of the stories of amour were included, but rather a selected group that I feel are representative of Greek mythology. As Alby Stone has discussed in his article on hellhounds in this issue, in the Old English the saint is described thus: 'He was of the race of mankind who are half hound'.
